Happy Easter

So on Easter Saturday hubby had to work so I took the kiddies to the beach with a friend and her kiddies. It was a beautiful morning for it.

After that we went back to my friends house and the kiddies played out the back on the trampoline. They were having a wonderful time as our trampoline cant be put up at the moment. They were all playing nice until...

Blake was playing with the puppies and they jumped up onto some bricks in the backyard and they landed on Blake's toe. Quick trip to the hospital to reveal... Its not broken. Just badly bruised. Hospital said we don't need to amputate, much to Blake's relief. Lol

Anyways...

This year Easter is pretty special to our family as it's our daughters 1st Easter. She's 10 1/2 months old and we just had a quiet one at home this year but I wanted to share some pictures with you all as we celebrate Emmalyn's 1st Easter. Emmalyn and the boys got spoilt this year.

So my craft projects this week include making paper and material flowers for a swap. I've also made beaded centers for the material flowers. They turned out good (If I do say so myself) until I ran out of beads. I turned

 into

Ok so, I've been a little flat and uninspired this week. Think it's cause the kiddies are home and it always adds a little something. In the mean time I've been cleaning sorting and destashing my stash. LOL. I know I said last week that I had swapped around things I haven't used with things I think I could, well I thought why not make some room and a little craft money by getting rid of items I haven't used / touched in the past 6 months and making way for all the things I've been using. Little bit of a mess at the moment but when its finished I think I'll be a little more inspired once I can see everything. It's amazing the things you find when you move other things.

Well that's it from me for this week. Check back next week hopefully I'll have something exciting craft projects to share. Happy crafting.

First week of school holidays...

Wow, What a busy week at my house with the kiddies on school holidays. My oldest has been crafting this week with me and has had a ball. He loves the Dylusions spray inks. I have a demo in May on Dylusions sprays and a Class on making Backgrounds for cards and have been playing around with them. Here are some things we came up with...

Also this week I've made some samples for Alice in Paperland's wedding invitations wall. I have had a blast playing with a bunch of beautiful papers.

So after class on Saturday I had a lady tell me she had been uninspired to make cards. I felt so awful for her I've  been making a few things to inspire her for when I next see her in may. She's wanting to make little girl birthday cards. What do you think?

Ok so, I've had a bunch of old craft magazines laying round for some time now, and I never look in them. Everyone of them had pages bookmarked for things I liked but I never get them out. I think it's because I have to go looking. So last night I sat on the floor with all these magazines and ripped out the pages of the things I wanted to keep and threw out the rest. This morning I then trimmed them up and I plan to make a Inspirational Smash book of all the things I found useful.

Have had a productive Friday cleaning up and sorting out my craft space and rotating items for use. I've put away items I haven't touched in a while and brought out thing I think I could use for current and upcoming projects.

Well that's all from me for now. Hope everyone has a great Easter weekend and I'll see you next week.

SURPRISE!!!

On Saturday 5th of April we had our butterfly class. Had 5 lovely ladies in to make the Accordion Fold butterfly card. They all helped each other and we got there in the end. Thanks ladies, for a great class. I'll see you next class.

Photo: Ta Da! Great work Ladies :)

Saturday night was a great night with family and friends. I had organised a surprise party for my husband's 30th. The weather however wasn't too inviting. I had organised it for Shelly Beach, then when it started raining I moved it to Settlement Point. Then when it was bucketing down we thought it best to move it to somewhere indoors. We agreed on Tacking Point Tavern and with little short notice and a cancellation we ended up with the function room for the evening. Everyone came at 530pm to help set up and a half hour later Trav arrived. SURPRISE!!! He was very surprised and overwhelmed to see that so many people turned out to help him celebrate his milestone birthday.

After a busy weekend I had a couple days break and enjoyed some time with my husband for his birthday, then straight back to it. Busy mid week sorting things for demos and classes. Making sure I had everything printed and everything I need for kits.

Friday demo - Cuttlebug Basics
We had a number of people turn up for our Cuttlebug Demo this Friday which was great to see. We covered everything from different sized dies to embossing plates and everything in between. We also had a look at when we could put into the Cuttlebug (foil, chipboard, acetate, Paper flowers etc) and a couple of techniques that you could do with embossing folders. Was a great morning.

Saturdays 1 Bag 3 Cards class was busy this morning. Met a lot of new people in which I'm hoping to get to know as the months roll on. We had a full class again today with 7 people and all turned up. We started with the easiest card but by the end we ran out of time and had to go over to finish the Waterfall card and fold the bag. Might need to rethink times or not talk so much. Haha. Thanks for a great class Ladies.

School Holidays
Kiddies are on school holidays now and Alice in Paperland, Port Macquarie is closed for the Public Holidays over Easter and ANZAC Day. Which means no more Friday Demos or classes for me until May. That doesn't mean I wont be crafting. I have plenty of side projects to do and I'm looking forward to sharing them with you all.

Speaking of side projects... I joined a group called Aussie Crafters on Facebook. They are a lovely bunch of people with craft on the brain. I joined up for this months swap. The theme was Autumn. We had to make an ATC for a one on one swap. Here's a sneak peak of the ATC I sent to my swap partner. I'll post a picture of the whole thing when she receives it. Don't want to give too much away.

That's all from me for now. Thanks for stopping by. Check in next week to see what I've been up to.

Happy Crafting

Busy Busy...

Last weekend I had my birthday. I know I know getting old and there wasn't a shortage of people reminding me. LOL. I had a great day with my husband and the kiddies. Nothing too exciting but had CAKE. Love cake.

Anyways... At the start of the week I joined a couple of groups on Facebook for Paper Crafters like you and I. I've joined a group called Townsville Papercraft Lovers who welcomed me into their family. It's a great little group of people with the same interests. I have just signed up to their monthly swap, which I'm super excited about. I've already started. I just want to Thank You all for making me feel welcome and at home. April's theme is ANZAC. I've finished my tags and they're ready to post. Here's a sneak peek...

On Tuesday, I had my first card making class where we made 3 cards and a folded bag for Mother's Day. It was a small but great first class. I'd like the Thank the ladies who joined me and also Nicole and her daughter Jess from Alice in Paperland for helping me with my little one.

The cards we made using the new Kaleidoscope papers from Kaisercraft. <3. We made a portrait card using tearing techniques, a Waterfall card and an Interlocking card.

Friday Demo - Distress Ink Part 2
We had a great turn out to the Distress Ink demo today. We spent the first 15 minutes going over what we did last demo then moved onto the new stuff. We applied ink to the tag then threw water onto it to give the bubble / raining effect. I love this technique. We had a look at some surfaces that Distress Ink can be applied to including Ribbon, Texture Paste, Chipboard, and dry embossed cardstock.

Well that's all from me for now. Check back next Friday to see how the Butterfly Card Class went. Have a great weekend. See you next week.
